Guests
There will be an additional charge per day for any room with more than two adults staying in it, which will be added at check-in.
Please let us know when making the reservation that there is another adult in your party so we can make sure the room will accommodate an additional person. Our room descriptions feature the maximum number of people per room.
Please also note, when reserving a room for a person other than yourself, you will be charged in full for the room at the time of the reservation.
Smoking
This is a non-smoking facility.. State law prohibits smoking within 20 feet of the inn.
You’ll find ashtrays outside the inn in the front and back.
If you smoke in your room we may need to charge a $250 cleaning fee
due to the extra cleaning necessary to prepare the room for the next guests.
Alcoholic Beverages
Any alcoholic beverages you bring must be consumed in your room and not in any common areas of the inn, including the grounds.
Only beverages purchased in our pub may be consumed in the common areas and the grounds. Sorry, that’s state law.
Does Breakfast Come with Our Room?
Yes, we have a complimentary full country breakfast for all our guests who have booked direct with us instead of through an Online Travel Agency like Orbitz or Expedia. If you booked through an OTA, you can upgrade for a small additional fee.
Our daily specials menu is posted in the dining room and the current serving times are posted at the bottom of the stairway by the front lobby.
Are You Dog Friendly?
The Vermont Inn allows dogs in designated pet-friendly rooms.
Please contact the innkeepers BEFORE BOOKING if you wish to reserve a room that is dog-friendly.
There are size limits depending on the room booked. There is a $35 pet fee per dog, per night.
If left in the room alone, pets must be in a kennel to prevent damage to the room.
Do You Have Any Rooms on the First Floor?
Yes, we have two, both adjacent to outside entrance-ways in the back of the inn: White Birches Suite and Fair Haven.
All other rooms are accessed by way of stairs to the second floor.
How Far Are You from Killington?
The Vermont Inn is situated halfway between Rutland and Killington on Route 4.
We’re 10 minutes in either direction to both locations.
Also, we’re not more than a couple of minutes from Pico Ski Area, also owned by Killington.
I’ve Never Stayed at a B&B Country Inn Before.

Aren’t I Just Renting a Room in Someone’s Home?
The Vermont Inn has won several awards for our high standards of service and our amenities. Check out our TripAdvisor ratings and comments. Once you stay with us, you won’t want to visit a cookie-cutter hotel again. You’re not spending the night in someone’s home, though our innkeepers do live on-site and can be reached night or day. We’re proud members of several professional hotel and innkeeping associations. And unlike “home rentals”, we’re licensed and inspected regularly by the town and state, just like any other professional public accommodation.
